TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM TIKAL
Minibuses service the Tikal-Flores route everyday, passing through El Remate. There are several types of shuttle buses that go to and from Tikal every 30 min. to 1 hour or so. Some older collective shuttles are very crowded with local residents who live on the route and/or others visiting the park. Other shuttles cater to tourism and aren't so crowded. Often times, tourists just wait along the main road and catch one of these shuttles.

Most hotels sell tickets for certain shuttles and book taxis, especially in the early morning hours. Private transportation is also available.

When booking transportation in advance, always ask about vehicle condition, age, A/C, capacity, etc. Overloading vehicles is a common and dangerous practice throughout Guatemala.

FROM COBAN TO HUEHUETENANGO
Take the Bus in Coban to Uspantan (aprox. 3 hours), from Uspantan take a bus to Sacápulas (aprox. 2 hours) and then take a bus to Huehuetenango (aprox. 9 hrs)


FROM PANAJACHEL TO SAN CRISTOBAL, MEXICO
Daily shuttle from panajachel to San Cristobal, Mexico, (Tierra Maya tour operador, www.tierramayatravel.com) leave at 6:00 am &  arriving at 2 pm, with a change of minibuses at the border, costing $ 40.00


FROM GUATEMALA CITY TO ANTIGUA
Antigua is located 23 km from Guatemala City. Visitors traveling to Antigua often take a collective shuttle from the Guatemala City airport or individual bus station. If you are traveling with several other people, you may find it convenient to take a private shuttle or taxi.  You can try Turansa, www.turansa.com.

Revue magazine is a good source of information when in the Antigua area and traveling through Guatemala. You can pick up a free copy at hotels, restaurants or check their website at www.revuemag.com

FROM COBAN TO ANTIGUA
Daily shuttles from Coban to Antigua leave at 6 am & arrive around noon, cost $25.00 p/pers. The minibus shuttle leaves everyday from Hotel Casa D'Acuña in Coban, 4a Calle 3-31, Zona 2. Tel 951 0484.

FROM LIVINGSTON TO PUNTA GORDA, BELIZE (BY BOAT)

FROM LIVINGSTON TO PUERTO BARRIOS (BY BOAT)
Scheduled ferry boats leave daily at 5 am and 2 pm, 1 hr 30 min. Small speedboats (lanchas) run every hour or so, Q25 pp. 


FROM PUERTO BARRIOS TO PUNTA GORDA, BELIZE (BOAT)
Boats leave twice daily, 10 am and 2 pm, Q75-100 pp, 3 hrs
